Bruno Mars‘ ascension to the top of this week’s Billboard Hot 100 came attached to some historic stats, some that have even aligned him with some of music history’s most celebrated male acts.
As reported here, Mars’ solo comeback single – ‘I Just Might‘ – debuted at #1 on the updated Hot 100.
The first single from his forthcoming album ‘The Romantic,’ the tune’s arrival ended the historic reign of Taylor Swift‘s ‘The Fate of Ophelia‘ by making history itself.
Beyond becoming Bruno’s first debut #1 hit over his decade-and-a-half-long career, ‘Might’ shines as his 10th Hot 100 chart-topper.
Among male vocalists, he becomes only the third (after Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder) in the 67-year history of the all-genre chart to boast 10 or runs atop the tally.
