Taking to Instagram, Timberlake shared a throwback clip of a young Bieber covering the track, alongside a heartfelt message:
“I know this has been a long road, and I know it’s not always a smooth ride. I’m proud of you – and you should be proud of you too. Sending love @lilbieber”
Bieber, who cited Timberlake as a key influence, even reflected onstage, saying:
“You know, I grew up listening to Justin Timberlake and so many other beautiful talents, but I remember this like it was yesterday.”
The moment hits deeper given their history. Timberlake once attempted to sign a pre-fame Bieber, who ultimately linked with Usher instead.
Still, no bad blood here, just respect.
