Even as its first-year anniversary approaches, ‘Folded‘ keeps on unfolding career firsts for Kehlani.
The breakout smash from her April 24-released self-titled album, the Andre Harris-produced slow jam already marked a milestone for the GRAMMY winner when it earned her first solo top 40 and later inaugural top 10 placement on the Hot 100.
Easily the biggest hit of her career to date, ‘Folded’ is now seeing its success fold over into new sales territory as recently verified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Taking to press Tuesday (May 5), the RIAA announced ‘Folded’ had flown to 2x Platinum status – a measure that denotes sales equivalence of 2 million sold in the United States.
The accomplishment comes as the first time the R&B diva’s seen a solo single reach such sales height.
Among all the hits on her personal RIAA log, however, 2019’s ‘Nights Like This‘ featuring Ty Dolla $ign remains her highest-certified song yet – currently sitting at 3x Platinum.

I wonder what is so appealing about this song. I heard it, and didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t put it on repeat. Still, I wont hate on her. I’m happy for her success.
Besides the elegant, comfortable cadence and angry climaxes absence, for me, it’s the dignified detachment in the lyrics — I’ll help you leave.
How much dough this Mehlani’s crew throwin’ y’all? For real, like she just invented the wheel or somethin’ since Mozzart dropped! Enough already, fam! Give us more hot teas not this Halle Berry wannabe polluting our X’s timeline….
No wonder ppl call This Flop Juice.
Next Michael, Zara Larson, Bey and some Gred-D artists.
