The global superstar has been officially acquitted of tax fraud allegations related to the 2011 tax year, ending years of legal battles in Spain.
The court ruled that Spanish authorities failed to prove Shakira spent the required 183 days in the country to qualify as a tax resident during that period.
Following the ruling, Shakira is expected to be reimbursed more than 5.5 million for legal fees and interest on what was allegedly owed.
The singer previously shared that the lengthy case caused many sleepless nights, but throughout the ordeal, she consistently denied any wrongdoing and chose to fight the case in court rather than settle.
Now, with that behind her, Shakira can focus on her upcoming FIFA World Cup performance.
