During an appearance on ‘The Bryce Crawford Podcast,’ the Super Bass rapper got candid about her past work. She acknowledged that much of the music culture she helped shape prioritized money, status, and material things over more meaningful values.
She said:
“A lot of the music culture she helped shape wasn’t exactly leading people toward God … but rather money, status, and material things … and she’s willing to take responsibility for something she regrets.”
This recent admission builds upon her past confessions about specific songs. In a 2020 fan Q&A at the Pollstar Live Conference, Minaj revealed she strongly dislikes some of her biggest hits, including ‘Your Love,‘ ‘Starships,‘ and ‘Anaconda.’
Minaj elaborated on her feelings during that conversation. She explained:
“My first ever solo song on Billboard was ‘Your Love.’ To this day I like the video but I hate the song. I could go on and on. I hate ‘Starships.’ I mean, like, yo, ‘Starships’? Like, why did I do that?”
Despite the commercial success of these tracks, ‘Starships’ even reached Diamond status in 2024.
Minaj has been vocal about her artistic dissatisfaction with them.

What happened between last year and this year., cuz she was just celebrating her being the only female rapper with so many diamond plaques.
Then went on a tour and profited from the hits that made her famous.
