Prediction [Billboard 200]: Madonna En Route to Landing Historic #1 Debut with New ‘Confessions II’ Album

Published: Monday 6th Jul 2026 by Rashad

After ample teasing, July 3 saw Madonna finally lift the lid on ‘Confessions II‘ – her fifteenth studio album and conceptual successor to 2005’s global blockbuster ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor.’

Her first LP since ‘Madame X’ marched to the top of the Billboard 200 in 2019, ‘Confessions II’ serves as home to the critically acclaimed Sabrina Carpenter-assisted ‘Bring Your Loveas well as bass-buoyed cuts assisted by StromaeMartin Garrix, Feid, and the Pop icon’s eldest daughter Lola Leon.

Having mounted a royal promotional campaign that’s seen her trumpet news of the project from Grindr to FIFA and beyond, industry insiders have already weighed in with what they believe the fruit of the aggressive push will be.

Details inside.

Madonna’s ‘Confessions II’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  100,000 – 110,000 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #1

If reports from top music business analysts are to be believed, ‘Confessions On a Dancefloor II’ will dance to the #1 spot on next week’s Billboard 200 thanks to first-week sales slightly north of 100,000.

The sum would give Madge her 10th championship run on the tally, making her only the third woman in history to have double-digit chart-toppers on the all-genre hitlist following Barbra Streisand (11) and Taylor Swift (15).

What’s more, ‘Confessions’ catapulting to the top of the Billboard 200 would crown Madonna the first woman to score a #1 hit on the chart in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s.

Among all artists, however, Streisand holds the record for most consecutive decades of Billboard 200 #1 hits (6) – 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s.

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for the final sum attached to the first week of ‘Confessions II’ when the numbers are revealed on Sunday (July 12).

This Madonna album is so mid it could be the official soundtrack for lukewarm coffee. I’m starting to think all those glossy reviews were sponsored by the “Mediocrity Appreciation Society.” Either that, or the critics got paid in vintage Madonna posters and leftover 80s hairspray. Honestly, if this album were a dance move, it’d be the “awkward shuffle” trying hard but just not quite hitting the beat. Sorry, Grandma, but this one’s more “meh” than “material girl.”

      Grandma loves you…
      Mother is mothering you.

You are one step away from your freedom.

Go ahead and listen to your Kpop or whatever terrible music your generation listens to

    • Lady CACA July 7, 2026

Funny, that’s what I said about Lady Caca’s, Mayhem. Dull and lifeless. 99 people can be in a room, but if just one person believes in your s***** album, that’s all it takes.

Deserved! It’s a great body of work. Instant classic!

  3. All hype no substance July 6, 2026

Yo, Madonna’s Confessions album..Bruh, it’s like she tried to drop some deep wisdom but ended up with a mixtape for the confused and the bored. The lyrics? Straight-up cringe city like she’s tryna be all spiritual but ended up sounding like she’s lost in a Walmart aisle, mumbling to herself. 🥴

  4. !! July 6, 2026

Be real, it won’t even spent a 2 week in the top 10 BB200 cause her fans are pure ol evil power bottoms with bad taste who only buy stupid a*** vinyls instead of streaming it like a normal 2026 person🤣

    • Stevie4 July 7, 2026

I give it 3 stars ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ out of 5. It sounds like one long song with a few perks of Daft Punk or Bjork wannabe beats. The stand out song for me is School 🚸, but like other songs on it I’m baffled on how it all relates to any Confessions on the Dance Floor 🤣 😒 🙄.

G***** payola impact or Kabbalah secret club? 🥴

      G r i n d r ?!

  6. Nate July 7, 2026

I like the first half better than the second, but overall it’s her most consistent sounding album in a while and is totally her vibe.

  7. Bam July 7, 2026

I’m sure it’s way more than 100-110, it’s a great album, the best she released in decades

Having read the comments, ummm, am just annoyed by those mean people. Be exact, they are of pitty personality. Personal opinion is perfectly acceptable, but just say something bad and attack her age and gender – as a grandma (or even worse as “Old woman”) – is a loser’s act. Whether like her dance music or not is just a personal choice. I also don’t like the music of TS, but I’m not a hater of TS and never say any bad thing about her. Streaming in 2026? yes, I also agree that streaming is very convenient, but in fact you do not “own” any thing.

      typo: ….pitiful personality….

I will admit that I am surprised at the numbers having watch the promo campaign. There are some strong cuts on the album, but this overpraise just seems rooted more in WANTING her to win (because of the obvious obstacles) than a solid body of work. Now I’m curious to see if it sustains in subsequent weeks or if a single actually charts…

    • Meh July 11, 2026

This exactly. I doubt if it will sustain past 2 weeks though.

  10. Audiobully July 7, 2026

Ya’ll young ignorant fools are so jealous as you KNOW your queens (TS, Bey, and Sabrina), ain’t gonna be doing THIS well at 60. They will be dried up has beens. It’s already happened to Katy. I am counting on that day happening to laugh in all of ya’ll ‘s faces muahahahaha

  11. XYZ July 7, 2026

Taylor Swift has 15 Albums? Full off the same Songs? When have they been released?

  12. B Lamont July 9, 2026

She didn’t have a #1 album on the Billboard 200 in the 90s so this isn’t correct.

  13. Meh July 11, 2026

This album is underwhelming tbh. A few cute moments, but overall I give it a 6 out of 10. Nostalgia & her name are selling this album.

  14. Andros July 11, 2026

Madonna did not have a number 1 album in the US during the 1990s. She had several albums that peaked at number 2 (The Immaculate Collection, I am Breathless, Erotica, Evita and Ray of Light), but her next number 1 album after Like a Prayer in 1989 was 2000’s Music.

As for the people commenting on Madonna’s age, or rant that Madonna should “act her age”, remember this moment when your Taylors, Sabrinas, Beyoncés and Rihannas are in their 60s and performing without anyone bitching about their age. Madonna opened that door and took every hit that came with it, so the rest of them can walk through without fear. She’s been doing this since 1983 and every female pop star today is following Madonna’s blueprint.
    You’re welcome.
