As Chaka Khan marches toward the September 18 release of ‘Chakzilla‘ – her 13th studio album and first since 2019’s ‘Hello Happiness‘ – the Queen of Funk sprung a royal surprise on her dedicated fans by paying a visit to ‘The Colors Show’ to give a live showing of 1985’s ‘Through the Fire.’
Easily one of her iconic discography’s most prized entries, the 73-year-old diva gave at-home viewers a peek at what attendees of her recent ‘Queens Tour‘ saw in person as she wailed the David Foster-penned classic by her lonesome via an in-studio performance.
Unveiled on Monday (July 20), look inside to see what’s had R&B lovers buzzing all day.
The jaw-dropping rendition came just weeks after Khan tag-teamed with Snoop Dogg for the official music video of her latest ‘Chakzilla’ single ‘Boogie’s in My Soul.’
