Ari Lennox is extending her stay in the ‘Vacancy’ era.
Two months after confirming an expanded edition was on the way, the R&B songbird has officially checked in with ‘Vacancy: Late Checkout.’
And she’s brought a fresh batch of material along for the ride.
Full story below…
The release follows January’s original 15-track ‘Vacancy’ album, which served as Lennox’s third studio LP and first full-length project since departing Dreamville Records after a decade.
‘Late Checkout’ incorporates that record in full while adding ‘Hookah Baby’, ‘Show Me,’ ‘Slide,’ ‘Speak Your Mind,’ ‘Leave Me Alone,’ ‘Unicorn,’ ‘Hot Mess,’ and a Foggieraw-assisted remix of ‘Mobbin In DC.’
The fresh cuts were shaped by the likes of Jay Versace and Amy Allen, while samples include Shabba Ranks’ ‘Ting-A-Ling’ on ‘Leave Me Alone.’
Lennox may be calling it a late checkout, but she clearly isn’t ready to vacate this era just yet.
