Justin Timberlake Announces Release Date Of ‘The 20/20 Experience’ Sequel

Published: Sunday 5th May 2013 by Sam

No rest for the wicked. Or, in Justin Timberlake‘s case, the successful.

The chart titan is presently enjoying global dominance with his third studio album ‘The 20/20 Experience’, which was recently certified double Platinum in the US. And having confirmed its sequel will arrive in the year’s final quarter, the 32-year-old sent fans into a frenzy by moments ago unveiling the release date of round two.

What are you waiting for? All the tea is spilled after the jump…

Taking to Instagram, the ‘Mirrors’ singer posted the following snap…

Needless to say, all roads lead to September 30th! Here’s hoping ‘2 of 2is a case of “saved best till last”, as its predecessor – while not “bad” – didn’t rouse us in the way its blockbuster success indicates it should.

A busy man these days, Timberlake will first embark  global tour in support of the set’s initial ten songs this Summer.

Yes for Justin , i hope he’s doing this because he missed music and not to quickly fulfill a contract.

  2. Just to Say May 5, 2013

WTF! Chill out boy you’ve only had two singles of this one!

  3. Likica May 5, 2013

I didn’t like his latest effort, FutureSexLoveSound is his best album, but anyway, wish him good luck!

    • Neigh-Neigh Leakes May 5, 2013

Is that you in your avie?
      If so, you’re pretty….b****.
Lol JK about the “b****” part.

    • Likica May 5, 2013

      Yes, I am.
      LOL thanks

Outselling most of the pop girls with just the US alone. Not to mention he didn’t latch on to this tired ass faux EDM trend. Great job.

I’m not feeling Mirrors. I wish he would release Pusher Love Girl. Anyway, I really do think he’s releasing a sequel to fulfill his contract obligations. When most artists sign a contract, they agree on a certain amount of albums within a certain amount of time and usually when they get down to the last 2 or so they rush them out so they can fulfill their contract and move on. In Justin’s case, if y’all remember a while back he did say that he was done with his solo career then suddenly he emerges with new music. Your label can only go so far with you before it’s time for both parties to move on.

It has to do with a contract i bet….and he getting those coins! He took the well needed break, and the fans couldn’t wait to gobble up what he had! Some people need to take notes! Better to be missed, than to stick around and be hated!

    • gaga monster May 5, 2013

And “some of these people” are who?
If you’re talking about Gaga and Beyonce, then keep dreaming…lol

      • J May 5, 2013

aint no one checking gaga anymore boo

I think hes talking about riri anyway

      • KiKI May 5, 2013

I don’t see how. Why Gaga & Beyonce when you got Rihanna releasing every single year with no less than 5-6 songs off each project. If that ain’t overkill then I don’t know what.

      • gaga monster May 5, 2013

Nobody checking on GaGa and YET her last album sold 6 mills ww? GTFOH

  7. Neigh-Neigh Leakes May 5, 2013

    Yasss JT!
I won’t lie, I was a tad bit disappointed with the 1st part but there were still some good promising songs on there

Can you imagine if the album is more commercial ala FutureSexLoveSound, he will slay, he slayed everybody with this not-so commerial album ‘The 20/20 Experience’, haters gonna hate, Usher, Miguel, Bruno, Breezy fans in 6,5,4,3,2,1…..:)

    • STONY May 5, 2013

PLEASE SHUT THE F*** UP WHAT DO WE HAVE TO HATE ON THIS SO IF HE MAKES A MEDIOCRE ALBUM AND SELL WHEN OTHERS HAVE BETTER MUSIC .we should praise him cause he’s jtimberlake?

  10. Jayla May 5, 2013

Love every album he has put out, very consistent and true to self

  11. gaga monster May 5, 2013

The biggest attention-seeking w**** since Rihanna.

    • Likica May 5, 2013

meat dress, hair hat, penis rumour, sleeping with band members, the most promoted album of all time, Madonna recycled and massacred hits hello???? where you are at?

      • J May 5, 2013

        amen

  12. unnami May 5, 2013

so part 1 and part 2 will be for grammys 2014 (of year 2013) ? it’s bad.

  13. Tallb May 5, 2013

it will be interesting to see if his sales this time around are also huge…would be kind embarassing otherwise meaning everything was built up on hype and not on music

  14. Lou May 5, 2013

I actually liked the album and the musical direction he chose to take. It wasn’t predictable, he did what he wanted to do. But I am pretty sure those sales were based off hype and his name alone, not the actual music.

  15. Hot s***! May 5, 2013

I love me some JT but his album sounded very dated to me…very old school Timbaland type sound that I just found kind of boring and like “I heard this all before.” I know JT wanted to be the next Aaliyah but I don’t see it happening. Aaliyah was always very futuristic and cutting edge and her music doesn’t sound as dated as JT’s and she’s been gone a long ass time. Aaliyah brought out the best in Timbaland and Missy’s production/writing talent and those two haven’t been able to match “Rock the Boat” and those other songs they did together.

    • music lover friends May 5, 2013

Never one of them wrote or produced rock the boat , in fact they didnt do much with her last album the credits go to- Static Major (remember lil wayne lollipop) and Eric Seats they were the ones who crated tat edge and mature sound for aaliyah alot of people dont even relieved that plus she wasnt goin to even stick with timbaland for future albums

    • Absolved May 5, 2013

Tim and Missy weren’t even the producers behind “Rock the Boat.” The f*** are you talking about? LOL

“Dated,” my ass. Justin came back as himself and didn’t compromise anything. He didn’t try to pander to you Gaga/Katy/Pitbull/Flo Rida/Call Me Maybe loving queens with silly, obnoxious and disposable pop music…and is reaping the reward for it. His “Dated” is selling better than what you would consider “Current.”

  16. J.LOvebird May 5, 2013

Not going to make the same mistake as last time. This time I’ll listen to it first online before I consider buying. You’re not duping me with s***** music Miss JT.

  17. crazyhomebodygirl May 5, 2013

Sorry u didn’t like 20/20 but most people obviously did. Only ones that didn’t are the ones that want another futuresexlovesound album. He already been there done that. He’s making music for grownups now not kids. U want dance music, just listen the radio then.

  18. Absolved May 5, 2013

20/20 went 2x platinum in one month and is still in the top 3 after almost 2 months. EVERYONE has heard it now and it’s still selling, so miss me on the “it sold off his name” b*******. It’s selling because people like it, it’s really that simple. Stans of other artists are just bitter because their favs aren’t moving anywhere near the same amount of units, and so they get on blogs and talk s*** to cope with their frustration over it. Poor you.

Looking forward to part 2. I’ll be at Target to scoop it up the day its released just like I did part 1. In the meantime, however, I’m still jamming to part 1 and loving it.

  19. Evan B**** May 5, 2013

so what? and Rihanna gets shaded for coming out with albums every year. but it’s okay for justin to come out with an album 5 months after releasing the first one…. ummmmm, okay!

    • Absolved May 5, 2013

If Rihanna takes a 7 year hiatus from releasing any new music, and then come back with 2 new albums that’re released within 5 months of each other, I promise I won’t shade her. But for as long as she insists on churing out a new album every Black Friday from now to doomsday, she can’t be compared to an artist who proved he could withstand a long break and come back bigger than he was before. Presidents have changed since the last time JT released an album. Rihanna wouldn’t have the nerve to try that.

  20. JER May 5, 2013

    I’ll be checking for it.
