Before learning of the record breaking sales he’s set to score with the new album, Eminem‘s ‘Marshall Mathers LP 2‘ took him to Rolling Stone magazine recently, where he was forced to answer questions on the allegedly homophobic lyrics that exist on the project.
Namely, on the rising hit that is ‘Rap God.’
What he had to say on the matter?

“I don’t know how to say this without saying it how I’ve said it a million times. But that word, those kind of words, when I came up battle-rappin’ or whatever, I never really equated those words (homosexual). . .”
“It was more like calling someone a bitch or a punk or a–hole. So that word was just thrown around so freely back then. It goes back to that battle, back and forth in my head, of wanting to feel free to say what I want to say, and then [worrying about] what may or may not affect people. Thank goodness rap is an American phenomenon, I have never liked it, never will and am not seduced by it. He has been using these slurs for a long time,that much we know. How many times does he have to say that he has nothing against homosexuals or against anyone? What he puts in his art doesn’t depict who he really is. Stop being so sensitive.

I mean, it would be so easy to attack him and make songs degrading him, but unlike him, nobody is as low life to do that. On the other hand he should have been banned by the media but for some strange reason he gets a pass. Remember he became known outside the USA more than a decade ago for his videos making fun of Michael, Britney and many more and nothing else, since rap is not big worldwide. What kind of man or artist is that?
Look I´m sure he is a great rapper (I don´t even care since I don´t use this genre) but he has to be one of the very few persons that I can´t give a pass. He is just hateful and bad. None of the girls we ususally talk about in TGJ are this way, and if they were they wouldn´t get a pass. That´s why I always repeat I have no problem with them as persons and I never talk about their personal stuff (unlike many of you desperate haters). But with Eminem I just can´t. His stan base is the worst by a mile too. The things many of them say about women alone is repulsive.

I am a fan of Em, but I am sure he is smart enough to come up with something different – he is recording these songs, not freestyling/battling. Being gay is a civil rights issue nowadays, and people are realizing that it’s not okay to use derogatory gay slurs – just like back in the day when white people used the “N” word and stopped after seeing how black people’s civil rights were infringed upon. If this was someone else you know they wouldn’t get a pass.
