For all of four years, the Pussycat Dolls dominated the Pop music landscape. Yet, with alarming swiftness, the ladies went their separate aways in 2010 amidst rumors of in-fighting and favouritism.
Fast forward to today, and like most disbanded groups, each member has gone on to experience varying levels of success in their solo ventures – the most notable being lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.
However, with the X Factor UK judge still trying to find her footing as a solo artist, it’s surprising (or perhaps not) that talk of a PCD reunion has surfaced – courtesy of former member Carmit Bachar (not pictured above).
During a recent interview with Maximo TV, the fiery redhead – who left the group prior to the release of sophomore album ‘Doll Domination’ – revealed that discussions are underway for a number of reunion themed projects.

Things have grown suspiciously quiet surrounding Ms. Scherzinger’s solo endeavours, so this may not be as far-fetched as it seems. What’s more, as history has shown, each of her singular endeavors is preceded by a PCD project. Could this be the case here? Time will tell, but there’s a few factors to consider – if a comeback is indeed on the cards.
In real-time, three years is not that long. Yet, in Pop years (especially when on hiatus), it’s an eternity. Hence, one has to wonder how -if at all- a reformed Pussycat Dolls would fit into the musical landscape; a landscape markedly different to the one that existed during their initial run.
One thing is certain, though; the all-Nicole motif of their yesteryear will have to be binned — or at least tweaked. We’re in the age of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Artists are almost required to have relatable personalities that fans can buy into. Hence, the nameless, faceless, and voiceless approach to being a “group” simply won’t cut it this go round. And for the love of all things good, can Melody please be allowed to sing something other than one adlib per song?!

Nicole wants to be Beyonce SOOOO bad. (as in breaking solo) It’s sad that you’re the main and only singer in the group, but you can’t sell unless the group’s name in on the song. Maybe the other girls really does bring something, cause Nic is a non blank factor.

The real question is why hasn’t Interscope put a budget behind Nicole?
How many solo singles has she released only to not have an album release date?
At this rate, Azealia Banks is more likely to release an album before her.
But Danity Kane has two #1 platinum albums and PCD only has one. They’ve sold more singles than Danity Kane because that’s all they do is drop singles. And Danity Kane was an actual group, PCD was not. Nicole was the ONLY singer as she’s stated before. You can’t call them a group if only one girl was ever singing.
Maybe Nicole has gotten word that the X-Factor job is not guaranteed. Plan B Nicole?

Carmit is the original doll anyway and can SING so if anyone should have been out in the front it should have been her and Melody with a little Ashley and Nicole here and there. Kim and Jessica don’t need to sing. I’m here for a PCD reunion without Nicole and Melody/Carmit taking over the leads. Nicole is too much and not enough at the same time. Screaming over songs doesn’t not make them sound any less like crap boo. “Right There”, “Wet”, and “Don’t Hold Your Breath” aka Rihanna demos were the best from the Scherzinger ‘Killer Love’ era. I’m still lost as to why she even had a Behind The Music special and not the Dolls as a whole.

I think there will always be room for a successful group to make a comeback, but although i cant stand Nicole it wouldn’t work without her the same way it didn’t work when they replaced the others, but i also do agree that there would have to be equal footing on the singing front.
I think that a reunion is going to happen for the same reasons they always do, to “refresh” their careers.
I think that this would be the last thread for Nicole as she has pretty much failed as a solo artist and no matter how good she looks she’s annoying as hell on xfactor. I’m here for PCD if the music is right. I used to live for Melody’s ad libs, runs and small vocal parts.
I have always like the red head! It’s a real shame we didn’t get to know all the ladies behind Nicole more personally. I think this reunion should happen. Nicole should still be lead though (it’s a proven formula that works for them,the group would be a fail without her), but every girl should be way more visible this time around. PCD should just even things out a bit (like TLC did). The talent is there!

Lead singing 60% Nicole, 20% Melody, 20% Ashley/Carmit/Jessica/Kim. say what you will, but Nik is still the main attraction!
If Nicole was any kind of attraction she would be a successful recording artists, but no, basic chicks are more relevant and she’s subjected to trying to act cute on xfactor and being known for wearing nice dresses. I think Nicole could do with singing a lot less
YASSSSS she was too much. That’s why nobody cared about ‘Killer Love’ enough for it to be released here. We’ve had enough of her and not enough of the other girls. Nicole is ‘OVERKiller Love’. Carmit and Melody can slay vocally and Ashley has a nice voice as well.

PCD haven’t left a legacy/impact the way girl groups like TLC, Spice Girls or even Destiny’s Child have.

Firstly, I don’t really think that Nicole still would be the only one to sing. Nicole was dropped out of Interscope, which means that this is the first time since Eden’s Crush when she doesn’t have anyone from the label behind her back + she flopped harder like Bionic which makes it obvious that she isn’t the reason why PCD became popular.
And lmao at Jessica being more successful than Nicole – she has two #1s at US Billboard Dance Chart promoting only in small clubs.
I hope that Jessica will become a new lead. She can sing amazingly while dancing – check it out at yt guys. Melody has a strong voice but she’s really, really bad technically. Carmit is good at singing and has a strong voice + is amazing at dancing. Kimberly and Ashley could sing easy parts of songs…
