I like Tamar and her music (except future annoying voice on this song) but let’s be real. This video makes entirely NO sense and there is too much going on. Tamar needs to learn how to edit herself. Some of her beauty shots she looks like she on drugs and real high others she looks constipated like she trying to drop a mean turd. I get trying tooooo hard in a lot of this. Her best shots were the ones in the chair and with the binoculars. The worst were the dead eyes floating in the pool and the bad black wig and seafood I don’t know what was going on.

I can’t be for certain but it seems like major label r&b artist are just not putting money into thesevideos. Actually, let me take that back bc the clothes and styling alone looks pretty pricey. As an artist, she always brings a great look to her promo (especially now with all the baby weight off) but, she really has to find good directors. As epic as her styling was, not the set ups nor the editing or the camera work… none of it was exceptional. The scene with the Marilyn tight curls looked awkward when she was laying down
Give me an overhead shot with her looking up to the camera, the scene with the chair was too flat. Where was the dynamism? Not to say that static shots aren’t an aesthetic, but honestly the execution was way off. This song is a bop (noty favorite but I really see what she was going for and I respect it). The right video could’ve made it pop in her catalog. I was imagining old school hype Williams. The super saturated primary colors. Anyway, my point is, tamar if you want to be a star on a higher level, these videos need to be elevated.

Honestly, if not for the show, Toni Braxton would be retired. Once Toni saw Tamar’s album sales in the 400k range, she recorded a duet album in less than two months and used the platform to tour. So really, Tamuppet isn’t the only that used the show. Toni herself used it to become moderately relevant again.
But Toni should have been the ONLY braxton on the show, and it should have focused on her music. I don’t give a damn about Tracy and her wanna be self, Trina and that truck driver, chronic cheatign husband, Towanda don’t have a storyline and Tamar and her gay antics…

I looove Tamar, she’s naturally an over the top girl but she embraces it and thats what makes her fun , era and entertaining, she’s a brilliant singer and songwriter and her videos are always very Tamar, over the top lol and i would not change them for anything. In terms of R&B videos not having much of a budget, its a sing that the industry does not want to invest and its people like Tamar that are keeping things moving so don’t hate!
