With the music industry awaiting Rihanna‘s new album with bated breath, hitmaker Calvin Harris has revealed that he worked on a track for the set with newcomer Tinashe.

The news came during an interview the Scottish DJ/producer sat down for with Kiss FM in support of his own
new album ‘Motion’.
Harris, who helmed Rih’s mega-smash ‘We Found Love’, explained that he was only able to pitch one track for the project (which has been delayed for more than a year) because he “didn’t have time” due to commitments he had to his own music. The ex-boyfriend of Rita Ora was sure to add that the said song hasn’t made the LP’s tracklist. He explained the situation saying:
“I had an album to finish, so I did that. But I did one track and Tinashe wrote the top line, and I did all the music. I love it. But I don’t think she was into it. So I don’t know what is going to happen to that because it’s really good.” {Source}
Given Harris’ gravitas, it’s interesting to hear that his and Tinashe’s track was essentially turned down. Granted only those close to the project can vouch for how hot it was (or wasn’t), it’s certainly intriguing.
Perhaps, ol’ RiRi really is pushing for optimum quality this time (a first for her, we must say). That, or she’s concerned about having a newcomer – who could easily blaze her lane with the right push – penning hits for her? We suspect it’s likely a bit of both. But we’re just thinking aloud….

Rihanna’s Rated R is quality. My favorite album of hers is Loud though. It has elements of The Velvet Rope, Music Box, & Music of the Sun all wrapped into one. Not to mention she was a little thick during that era and wore it extremely well. 🙂 Anywho, can’t wait for R8!
