As the competition between TIDAL and Spotify heats up those hoping to take a bite into Apple‘s streaming service will learn more about what it is to offer when it makes its arrival.
Why Beyonce & Jay Z have now found a rival in ‘What If I Kissed You’ performer Drake on their quest for the streaming throne?
Find out below…
Beyonce & Jay Z’s TIDAL HIFI streaming service will soon find itself faced with the monster that is Apple as it gears up to unleash its streaming offering in a matter of hours.
Now, fans of the rapper Drake will learn that he has been employed to serve as a DJ on its free internet radio service, tasked with pulling his fanbase towards Apple and away from rivals TIDAL and Spotify.
Engadget reports:
Apple will serve up ad-supported internet radio that’s run by real DJs at no cost. And it seems Dr. Dre, Q-Tip and Drake are part of the talent Tim Cook & Co. plans to put on air as hosts. With a new option that’s reportedly not unlike broadcast stations, Apple will take another stab at internet radio after its first foray didn’t take off. WSJ also notes that the company has locked in licensing deals with Universal Music, Sony and Warner Bros — three of the biggest labels in the industry.
Rumours have linked Taylor Swift and Kanye West to the company’s push for exclusive content while industry murmurs point towards a $10 per month charge for those hoping to get in on the action.
