Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature whipped up to celebrate TV and Film’s glorious past.
Today we take a journey back to 1999 to return to the post-apocalyptic teen drama…’The Tribe.’
Shot in New Zealand, the series followed the perilous lives of teenagers forced to fend for themselves and build a new society after a deadly virus kills all adults.
Raymond Thompson and Harry Duffin created the series and, after winning over the powers-that-were over at the Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group, saw it picked up the United Kingdom’s Channel 5.
Ready to that journey to the past?
Reunite with Ebony and company below…
Episode 1 (Part 1):

Nostalgic moment!!! Made my fuuuucking day!
The fact that Three black sisters were the leads on this show proves that people have no problem supporting shows carried by black people. It’s the industry that has the problem.
This was my show!!! Salene always worked my last nerve though.never truly liked Bray. Amber was life!
Was she the one who was always complaining?
We never got this show in the states, looks interesting though.
