Pharrell Williams‘ foray into the film industry has proven to be effective.
Since penning ‘Happy,’ the infectious theme song set to the animated film ‘Despicable Me 2,‘ the super producer has found himself in the comfortable seat as a household name.
But throughout his quarter century career, Pharrell’s personal life and upbringing in Virginia Beach has always been a mystery of some sort.
That’s all set to change soon, though. Because the 43 year-old has reunited with FOX, the studio he worked with on the Oscar-nominated ‘Hidden Figures,‘ for a film based on his childhood.

Helming the title ‘Atlantis,’ the big screen film is being described as a musical skewing the ‘Romeo and Juliet‘ style. The movie will be directed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer.

It’s an interesting move for Williams, as the Musical genre enjoyed renewed relevance following ‘La La Land‘ and ‘Beauty and The Beast.’
Sure, Pharrell’s flick some time away from hitting cinemas but we’re interested nonetheless.
