Pop songstress Katy Perry‘s politically charged last single, ‘Chained to the Rhythm,’ may not have been linked to the type of ‘out of the box’ success she’s used to enjoying, but its follow-up – ‘Bon Appetit‘ featuring chart-topping rap group Migos – may be on track to sing another tune (commercially).
Being served alongside a healthy helping of controversy (click here to read more about that), listen to it inside and tell us if Ms. Perry will land a hit akin to the other big smashes that line her discography:
With an intro and chorus that grabs you from the start and builds some serious anticipation, we applaud Ms. Perry for “sticking to her strengths” and delivering another safe and radio friendly number just in time for summer. But, as you listen on, that anticipation basically builds to nothing as the verses are underwhelming at best.
If you asked us, this isn’t exactly what we were hoping for and, more importantly, this isn’t what Katy needs at this juncture in her career. To add, for as much as people are dissing her for adding Migos, they actually own the track’s best part.
Here’s hoping a video as epic as ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ will be delivered with the tune to help add interest. From where we stand, after the initial hype wears off, ‘Bon Appetit’ will be LUCKY to be served the same reception its predecessor was.
The single is ?? perfect timing ? Keep the rhythm going
Yes bring the heat katy. P.s. This layout is truly trash.
Wow. That was trash. Once again she claims she’s gonna have a more serious era then resorts back to her childish nonsense. 3 duds in a row (Rise was the first)
Better than CTTR, but something is missing still. I felt so underwhelmed after the chorus. The song sounds promising in the beginning .
That’s so bad, the rappers were the best part
I here was only here for Migos. They killed it
Issa DUD compared to CTTR. I actually respected her little ‘purposeful pop’ thing she had going on but she killed it with this weak single. Didn’t start boppin’ till Migos came through and ripped their verses. They made the track. Top 30 hit at most.
The song is catchy and undeniably radio ready but it’s kind of a bummer that even when she’s “slaying” that she doesn’t really have a signature sound and that she kinda sounds like the hook girl on her own tracks.
Beyonce, Snake and T***** are shook
Lies. This is terrible
FLOp
Floppppp! Too Repetitive! And to have a homophobic rapper to boot? Smh. Radio friendly yes! Hit single No!
Next!
PS- This site is junk now. No one comments anymore.
no one except you?
Listen….Migos owned this f’in track. Everyone did their damn thing. I’m especially impressed with Takeoff and Offset…they came thru. I wonder if migos brings their own sound engineer when they collab. Because their sound is always distinctive.
It will debut high then nosedive soon thereafter like CTTR.
I’m not even gonna listen to it. Katy Perry is trash, and so are Migos. None of these people are acceptable.
Never really been a fan, however she has had some bops.
BUT this track proves exactly why I am not a fan. zero growth & zero replay value.
zzzzzzzzzz
THis sounds like a demo for JLo doesn’t showcase her voice just spitting out pop tarts for the public to eat hey get ur coins!
