Miley is better as an artist definitely. At least she can sing songs like “Jolenne” with some passion. And her albums seem to have a concept and defining sound.
Absolutely. That’s her biggest problem. The critique everyone always gives her is that she has no soul or depth. That’s because she has no artistry. Miley may not be able to sing as well but at least she sings with purpose.
When she sings it sounds empty though. Her target audience was clearer than ever when last year we saw who attends her shows. She is not cross-over material which equals zero impact in the long run. They still have not written one single song for her that could be remembered.

Agree but I read that her team knows she has no defining song. They’re trying to get her an I will always love you, Hero, Rolling in the deep, moment. At least they’re aware she has no memorable hit. I thought they were oblivious. Hopefully that’s true and they get it. Ariana’s talent is so much more apparent when she sings R&B. For that reason, I don’t trust pharrell at all. He’s gonna mess it up and take it in a bad direction.
