It may have fallen out of the iTunes chart due to poor sales, but Cardi B’s latest single ‘Bartier Cardi’ is making serious bank in the United States.
Good news for the mother-to-be below…
‘Bartier’ touched down to serve as the follow-up to her smash hit cut ‘Bodak Yellow’ and leads the way for her delayed debut album.
On a pure sales front the song’s run has been dire.
However, the rapper’s status as a streaming magnet has seen the jam elevate it commercially.
How high? Around $50,000 a week high.
Figures pulled from this week’s ‘Song Revenue Chart‘:
$49,533 of this figure was generated by streaming while the remaining $5,758 was swept up by pure sales.
Good news, as it sees the star’s bosses at Atlantic rake in sizeable sums cash from the performer’s art even without the support of the album they can expect to soar just as high on platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and TIDAL.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t all good news in the world of female rap.
For, less than nine weeks after its unveiling, Iggy Azalea‘s ‘Savior‘ has slipped out of the iTunes Top 150 due to worryingly low sales. It is set to sail out of the iTunes 200 by the end of next week.
Yet to hear the single?
I can’t believe these songs make that much/week from streaming. And ppl have the nerve to downplay streaming. I can only imagine he checks, Drake and Rihanna gets from their streams.
Nonetheless, Cardi need to go head and scratch this single and release something new.
Stop riding flat tones Ri-Whine-A d***!!
lmao stop riding goat yodeling Roach’s d*ck! that is, when she’s not lip syncing to a backing track lmfaooooo!
k
The label will take 50k, her manager 1k, and she’ll walk away with 500 dollars.
Not how it works ???
lmao try $100 lmfaooo.
Exactly! Streaming makes money, but the artist gets pennies smh.
I love this picture of Cardi! Please don’t let her image look anything like Roman Reloaded on the album cover lol…I want something sleek! Still can’t believe she let Offset shoot the club up tho! Like, ain’t nobody got time for that ? Rooting for her!
The amount of time they are spinning that song on the radio, they are trying there best to make it another Kodak yellow. me and my brother was in the car and that song was playing so much time so he change the station, and the same song was going on he actually went to 5 stations and the same bartier was playing, he was like damn they trying to make this another kodak yellow.
That’s awesome ??
Wasnt the video suppose to premiere on the 12th? Did I miss something?
I actually liked Iggy Azalea performance!!
The song is a flop. Next single please.
Artists and labels foolishly fought streaming all these years, only to end up making MORE money, and it’s guaranteed money. No production or distro costs, and no chargebacks. This is also good news for indie artists. Getting a hit is as hard as it always was, but if you get a song popping, you will make great money; and also, for indies, market access and distro are no longer issues.
