‘Chun Li’, the smash hit single released by the rapper Nicki Minaj extended her lead as the longest-charting/highest-selling female rapper of all time when it soared to glory on charts globally.
Unfortunately, as addressed here many times before, the rapper’s reluctance to spend promote her material in the United Kingdom physically seems to lie at the heart of the track’s swift decline on iTunes UK.

The lion’s shares of the performer’s Hip-Hop hits have been carried by a loyal fan base who, despite living in a streaming era, showcase their loyalty by purchasing her material.
These pure sales are to thank for Minaj’s record-breaking run in markets she spent a great deal of time during the promotional campaign she launched to support her first two albums.
It now seems that her decision to focus on driving sales in her domestic market is harming her ability to sustain notable chart positions overseas.
How so? ‘Chun Li’s departure from iTunes UK this morning.
As it stands, the number finds itself swimming outside of the Top 100 and is being outsold by Bruno Mars & Cardi B‘s single ‘Finesse’ which is now placed at #61.
The problem it seems stems from the fact that the rapper’s die hard fans have already exhausted their purchasing power in the market and need the support of casual listeners to extend the track’s run on the charts.
It isn’t all bad news though.
For, the cut’s release has sparked fresh interest in the star’s older cuts and pushed over a dozen of her tracks to new Silver, Gold and Platinum milestones.

Of course I know that the charts are updated daily, if not hourly.
But this only proofs that no one, except for her hardcore fans that downloaded the track last week, care for her. Because as I can see there are a lot of tracks in the top 10 that have been there already last week.
