The split comes on the heels of mass media murmurs about all not being well with the couple – who had a 11 year age gap. A popular British tabloid reported in February that they were on the brink of ending their whirlwind union.

Their romantic expiration also comes as ‘Fight For This Love’ singer Cheryl gears up for a return to the charts and as Payne preps his solo album – the singles of which have all stalled since last year’s debut ‘Strip That Down.’
