Yawn.
Agreed, it annoys me that they still have this award when they don’t play any music videos. It’s become pointless to me to have it televised on the station. Congrats to Cardi, well deserved. I see there is no R&B section, interesting (unless TGJ didn’t post it which I find hard to believe). Shame to R&B had a great year. No one say anything about the BET awards because the cover film and sports as well.
Drake will probably take home the most. Cardi should win one or two. And whether or not you like the song, Apesh** is a great video, it should end up winning something. And the rest… Ariana, Camilla, Dua… don’t care.
Apesh** shouldn’t win anything. There are way better more memorable songs with great videos that haven’t won. They shouldn’t get an award just cause.
? They wouldn’t be getting an award “just cause”… they’d be getting an award because it’s a great video. And how is it that the video doesn’t deserve to win anything because other good songs/videos in the past didn’t?? By that logic, nobody should win anything. There are better songs than Bartier Cardi, Havana, Finesse, God’s Plan, New Rules, and everything else here too.
I’m here for all the Apesh!t noms ?? Would be dope if the performed it .
I actually love the song and the video is fire sooooo… let’s see .
this is why people accuse beyonce of buying awards why r chole x halle nominated for best new artist….with their riduculous platform what have they done?
Ella Mai is currenttly the highest charting r&b artist this year number 5 in the charts no rnb song has done this by a woman of color in ages ….she should be nominated why is she not….coz beyonce n her roc nation gang her bought those two wieredos a nominatino….pathetic….
Anyways….estelle released american boy in 2008….now in 2018 boo’d up….can u guys make an article about how in 10years for black british female singles NOTHING Has changed for those who sing r& b so there has beeen 0 progress in a DECADE and nobody cares….YYYY….. only in america or africa can a black woman have a commerically viable platform ? would love a well written n researched article on that
thanks!!
Girl bye. Other than Cardi, no one else in that category is moving mountains in the industry either. The are 5 whole other people nominated in that category. But it’s Chloe and Halle that took Ella Mai’s spot? Riiigghtt. ? What’s your excuse for them? Why didn’t Ella Mai get nominated instead of Bazzi or Lil Pump? And you’re asking why only in Africa or America can black women gain commercial success, but yet you’re mad that Ella Mai isn’t being acknowledged at the VMAs, an American award show, as if British artists need American validation to be considered successful…. makes no sense.
wow im sure your a complete imboicle….lil pump had a ridiculously big hit song last year ….spotify streams with over 400 million streams on that song alone.
furthermore Bazzi’s new single beautfiul 10million youtube views in 1 month, and also spotify 368million streams on his song mine.
Ella Mai stats boo’d up over 50million streams across her top 5 songs on spotify over 110 million streams…..youtube 139million views
Chloe X Halle Happy without me 7million streams… just under 20million streams across their top 5 songs on spotify … Youtube views Video with top views just over 5million…
commericially she Ella is more succesful than them…..this is a fact of numbers not my opinion….
My dig at beyonce is that as a black woman this is a dirty trick for her & her gang against Ella…. Nobody is interested in Chloe X hALLE the numbers show this…they have been on huge tours even on a tv show….nobody cares….that is what i am saying…
furthermore, u dont want to get in an argument with me child STAY IN YOUR LANE…MY YOUT when grown folk talk walk out
@whewwchile Can u not comprehend? It’s called the VMAS!! It’s about music videos! The BBMAs is the award show that showcases those who dominated the charts. Most videos are mediocre besides the ones created by Beyoncé. That’s why she has the Vanguard award. Stay mad and pressed. People are ALWAYS gonna accuse her of everything under the sun. 21 years later and she’s still here! You will deal!
So somehow it’s Beyonce’s Fault that MTV didn’t nominate Ella mai for a VMA, and not MTV’s nominating committee? Cmon really
The VMA’S are irrelevant af.
I’m here for Look What You Made Me Do consistently being ignored for the flop that it is.
thank u thank & THANK U
Well dayum lol ? ?
If beyonce and Jay Z perform at the awards show this year we all know its because they told them that they won most of the major awards for that night.lol
mtg awards are irrelevant af. how much do those nominations and awards cost nowadays?
Bartier Cardi was a waste of a nomination imo that video sucked. And since the awards are fan voted I’m expecting Jay+Bey and Drake to take most of wins.
I’m here for Childish Gambino and The Carters ???
So the Carters got 8 noms for album that made no impact and a garbage song that was hot for a week and fell off the charts lol SMH
You do understand that the V in VMA stands for VIDEO, right?
And u understand the M is for music right?
When a music sucks so much as apeshit no vídeo Can save it!
Obviously. The music aspect is there to indicate that we’re not talking about videos in film, television, or some other artistic category. But this award show was specifically designed to honor music videos. That’s the whole point. And y’all are being dramatic af. As if this is Rebecca Black’s Friday. I don’t know if it’s because it’s Beyoncé or what, but the song is not that bad.
Eminem and Timberthief albums and songs did better than the Carters flop but I guess they didn’t pay enough lol
You do understand that Beyonce bleeds like every other human right ??
se 8 noms don’t got s*** to do with that garbage ass video lol $$$$
Any time someone of color is nominated makes it a great show!
Why is the Carters nominated and Arianna? Didnt they just released their songs like a month or 2?See this the B.S I be talking about MTV Vmas is nothing but a plot of Nominations for fans favs!! Cardi “I Like it” song should had been nominated before theirs I mean she did break a record with the song.. I’m so disappointed at this nomination picks!!
Yes so happy with noms , the queen jlo got 2 noms wow . But i have preferred El anillo as best latin better than dinero
IM SO GLAD JLO GOT 2 NOMINATIONS!!! FINALLY THEY RECONIZING ANOTHER TALENT THATS BEEN IN THE GAME FOR DECADES, UNLIKE SOMEONE ELSE WHO JUST PAYS FOR THEIR NOMINATIONS FOR DROPPING S***** VIDEOS.
Toni braxton long as i live
hope logic wins his song has a real message
