Nivea has a story to tell.
Watch below…
‘The Untold Story of Nivea’s Complicated Career’ lifts the lid on the decisions that derailed her promising bid for superstardom and where she has been hiding since beginning her motherhood journey.
How her fans responded?
Nivea really did give us bops. I didn’t even know she wasn’t successful. Thought she just wanted to stay at home with the babies!

nbsp;
Why is Nivea taking care of those kids on her own?? @TheKingDream wrote freaking ‘Umbrella’ & ‘Single Ladies’. That’s ridiculous.

I cried at this part, Nivea deserves ? pic.twitter.com/uJkGpwwGp8

What happened to Nivea is even sadder because she wrote most of her songs, she could’ve easily been behind the scenes writing for different artists just like her baby father “the Dream” does.

Damn The-Dream couldn’t help Nivea cut a record with a Lil Wayne feature? Help sis out!
— Mr. Joe Schmoe ???? (@HenJoeSchmoe) September 23, 2018
obviously lil wayne and the dream like the same kinda girls… they both had a baby with Nivea and was both with Christina

Nivea has no reason to respect The Dream or Lil Wayne. Now I understand FULLY why my mother despises my father lol.

Dang I didn’t know Nivea had a baby with Lil Wayne and the Dream! That shows you even the richest niggas still can’t hold a candle to a 9-to-5 MAN!

The amount of ground covered by Nivea in that few minutes is ridiculous. From her growing up poor, to her running the streets from 14-18, to her manager harming her in some way, to being with lil Wayne/dream, the industry not accepting her, her being ghetto, it’s just… so much.

The reality that Nivea stayed home and raised her kids so Wayne and the dream could build these amazing ass careers but when she asked them to do the same they said no is besides me.

Fascinating stuff.
Let’s go I’m rooting for u Nivea!!
I know Nivea personally and her biggest obstacle in life has been herself. She is unmarketable and I really wish she would have not gotten them tatoos and went back to school to become more polished. She has an amazing talent and has continued to release music independently over the years. I hope she continues to make music and find her self-worth because she is loved by her family, friends, and fans.
I love Nivea, I remember “okay” coming out in middle school and being the jam. After watching this I walked away with her being the black Britney. I thought that was crazy… the other thing is, it seems like she was on something during this interview because her crying and her body language seems like she was very uncomfortable.
She honestly looks like she has teeth to big for her mouth like dentures that she never adapted to once she got them done. She also is doing her lips how most people who tries to hold back their cries n remain sane when you really aren’t!!
She has my respect. That’s all I can say.
She had a stroke hence why some people think she’s on something ? but she just emotional
As a R&B/Hip-Hop head that feels like the mid-90s to mid-2000s were the best years for modern day music, it’s nice to see her story in her words, as a lot of people forget that she had an impact on the genre (albeit a minor one). I had actually forgotten about her until this, but I remember LOVING “Danger”, “Don’t Mess With My Man” and “Laundromat” back in the day. I also remember wondering why it seemed like she fell off the face of the earth, but it’s clear that motherhood had a profound impact on her life.
While I appreciate the hunger and drive she clearly has, part of me thinks it’s best she doesn’t even try to break back into the music scene. You’ve got your kids, you’ve got your memories and tour experiences, but you’ve gotta remember that the music industry was completely different then, and, to be honest, I don’t see that many people even potentially checkin’ for her in 2018. Heck, even Ciara, who Nivea mentioned in the video, is struggling to get back to how massive she was at that time.
I love her voice. I would welcome any new music from her in my collection. She never really left music. She has been releasing stuff all along. It was just not charting and only marketed to southern audiences.
If you haven’t checked out her second album, do yourself a favor and listen. She has some great cuts, and the title track is one of my all time favorite records. It’s sad how her label never really supported her when they were sitting on easy hits (25 Reasons, Laundromat, Complicated, Parking Lot, etc). She didn’t even talk about how they held off and didn’t promote Okay for about a year to wait for Ciara to come out. She never really got a fair shot.
Don’t Mess With My Man is such a classic for early 2000s preteens!
Only the strong survive in this industry. She decided to chase behind these no-good rappers instead of focusing on her career, and look where that got her. After she got knocked up by Wayne, Jive Records quickly replaced her with Ciara. Nivea had potential but threw it all away. Luckily, she got pregnant by two millionaires so those child support checks are probably nice.
This I agree with. Nivea didn’t want it bad enough. It was way too early in her career (at least back then it was) for her to get knocked up. She was easily replaceable to her label, and they did so with Ciara. This thing happened far too often with female artists in the early 2000’s. Poor decisions and bad business deals…..
I’m confused by the Ciara comparisons in the comments. They aren’t even that similar.
Ciara was signed to Jive (same label) and brought in ‘crunk and b’ with her Goodies sound that blew up. The problem was Nivea had her Lil Jon record ‘Okay’ ready to go in 2003 before Ciara was ever a thing. Jive pushed Nivea’s album back to 2005 due to Ciara’s success with the sound Nivea had first. Of course they could have coexisted but Jive made Ciara the priority and completely abandoned Nivea.
Jive had to abandon Nivea during the “Okay” promotion because she got pregnant with her first child as evident in the Okay video. She was no longer marketable and Ciara became the next best thing. Nivea had plenty of hits but made bad personal choices
Love you Nivea !! Ill be here for your comeback gurll !!!
