It seems that the reports regarding Fantasia’s abortion of her married lover’s child were true. In fact, audio of the singer’s confession of the act has now surfaced. Listen to her courtroom testimony below via Radar Online:
Here are key parts of the court proceedings Monday, including Fantasia admitting to the abortion:
Lawyer: “See if you recognize this as being a letter you wrote to Mr. Cook on May 10th 2010” (inaudible)
(inaudible) Fantasia reads the letter to the court. “I want you. I pray every night that I can be in your life forever, be your friend, lover, prayer partner, wife and MOTHER OF YOUR CHILDREN. As long as I can have you I will be the happiest girl in the world.” (inaudible)
Lawyer: “Ms Barrino, when you wrote this letter, you said you wanted to be the mother of his children, is this right?”
Fantasia: “Uh huh.”Lawyer: “Were you pregnant with his child when you wrote this letter?”
Fantasia: “No, no.”Lawyer: “Is it true at one point you told him you had an abortion?”
Fantasia’s Lawyer: Objection!(ARGUMENTS BETWEEN LAWYERS)
Lawyer: “Ms Barrino, isn’t it true that you told Mr. Cook that you had aborted his child?”
Fantasia: “When I wrote this letter I was speaking in future references. Like, one day, I would love to be all of these things that I wrote. I was not pregnant with his child.”Lawyer: “But did you tell Mr. Cook you aborted his child?”
Fantasia: “I did, yeah.”Lawyer: “When did you tell Mr. Cook you had aborted his child?
Fantasia: “I’m not sure.”Lawyer: “When did you abort his child?”

Fantasia: “It was right after he left his home.”Lawyer: “Mrs. Cook contends that she separated from Mr. Cook in June 16th 2010. How close in proximity to her date of separation did you contend that you aborted his child?”
Fantasia: “I’m not sure. Probably August when the other stuff happened.”
WOW, this is crazy and I can’t wait until this is over so Fantasia can move on with her life.

How tacky for TGJ to post this. This is someone’s private business. What does this have to do with her music. I have not listened to the recordings but I am just amazed that recordings from a trial (without the consent or knowledge of the judge) are publicised . So what’s next a video tape? I am also amazed at how people seem to think because they pay 8 or 10 dollars for a CD they are somehow entitled to know and publicise someething as personal as someone’s abortion and it all comes under the label of “democracy”

I agree with the majority commenting. It doesn’t matter what Fantasia did, none of us are God, or Judges or juries for that matter. Quit worrying about what others do in their lives, and make sure you keep your mess together. Yes, Fantasia was wrong, and disrespected herself as well as Mrs. Cook, but two wrongs don’t make a right, and for her privacy to be violated in such a way is down right malicious. If someone could take private information from a court room and report it, then know that your information is subject to the same thing. I get why TGJ reported it, but in the name of decency they shouldn’t have and neither should any other media outlet. It is a violation of the Hippa law, and if I was Fantasia I would sue every one who reported it!

Does anyone know whether the judge is concerned that this recording was leaked? No excuses for having the affair with the married father of two, but I think it’s so backwards that Antwaun Cook is not the villain for his wife or Fantasia. Why is Mrs. Cook so hell bent on destroying Fantasia when there are so many stories out there that Fantasia was one of many women he had been involved with during their marriage. That’s why they were having so many problems in their marriage. I’m pro-life but I’m not going to judge Fantasia. I feel sorry for her. Her mistake is no different than so many in the entertainment industry. You would be shocked by the number of your favorite singers who have had affairs or abortions. I think Fantasia has so much talent. I hope she makes it and finds real happiness with someone decent.
Hopefully Fantasia’s family, friends and agent can help her transition to a better life. Many people more famous than Fantasia have had abortions, but none of them admits to it while still building a career. It’s not that people are really judging Fantasia, some are, it’s just that she’s not built up a big enough fan base to sustain this kind of blow. I hope Paula Cook’s only motivation is pay back, to destroy Fantasia’s career. She’s not going to get a dime. Her attorneys won’t get paid. They think Fantasia has money, but she doesn’t. So at the end of the day, Antwaun Cook has been costly to both of these women. What a shame!
