Travis Scott‘s representatives have laughed at a claim made by a man who says the artist ripped him off to create the smash hit jam ‘Highest in the Room.’
Full story below…
Benjamin Lasnier is a Danish producer who has created tracks for the likes of Trippie Redd, Desiigner and Don Toliver and says he has good reason to believe that Scott stole from him.
Back in 2019, Lasnier uploaded a recording of himself playing the guitar on social media and saw it reach over 700,000 people.
Some time later, he formed a friendship with Scott employee named Jamie Lepr and sent him a batch of beats which included the guitar melody he’d performed on Instagram earlier in the year.
This, as far as he sees it, is when the melody was stolen and used to complete ‘Highest’.
He is now asking a judge to give him an accounting of the song’s profits and to place him on the song’s credits so that he can generate income from what he believes is his work.
Scott’s camp have laughed at the allegation as they believe it is “nothing more than a frivolous dispute between producers and has nothing to do with Travis directly.”
