Tay Keith’s cause of death has been revealed three months after the Grammy-nominated producer died aged just 29.

As TGJ reported at the time, the Hip-Hop hitmaker was found dead inside his Nashville apartment during a welfare check in June. Police said there were no signs of foul play, while his cause of death remained pending.

Now, the findings from the medical examiner have shed light on what happened.

According to TMZ, Tay Keith’s cause of death was the toxic effects of ketamine and mitragynine.

The Nashville Medical Examiner’s Office reportedly found both substances in the producer’s system.

Nicotine and ethanol were also detected, while the examination noted mild coronary artery disease.

Additional drug paraphernalia was found around Keith when he was discovered in his apartment.

Born Brytavious Chambers, the Memphis native became one of Rap’s most in-demand producers, crafting hits including Drake’s ‘Nonstop,’ Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode,’ and Sexyy Red’s ‘Get It Sexyy’.

His death prompted an outpouring of grief from across the music industry. Drake paid an emotional tribute, while frequent collaborator Sexyy Red mourned the producer and celebrated the close bond they shared.
