In 2019, Summer Walker burst onto the music scene as the year’s breakout R&B star with her debut album, ‘Over It.’
While fans and critics alike anxiously awaited news on its official follow-up, the 24-year-old opted to sate demand for new music by unexpectedly announcing a 5-song EP. Titled ‘Life on Earth,’ the July 10-released project keeps Walker’s signature vocal stylings front-and-center as it only boasts two features: PARTYNEXTDOOR and NO1-NOAH.
Predicted to be one of the week’s top sales debuts with nearly 38,000 units expected to be sold by the finale of its inaugural sales period, look inside to see the final first-week figures.
“Summer Walker collects her second top 10 album, as Life On Earth debuts at No. 8 with just under 28,000 equivalent album units earned.
Of that sum, 24,000 are in SEA units [streaming], 3,000 are in album sales [pure], and a negligible figure is in TEA units.”

Despite missing its predicted SPS mark by nearly 5,000 units, ‘Life on Earth’ still landed on the refreshed Billboard 200 as the week’s highest debut project among all female and R&B acts respectively.
