‘Leave The Door Open,’ the lead release from the pair’s forthcoming album ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic,’ climbs from #3-#1.
It marks Mars’ eighth time atop of the tally and Anderson .Paak’s first.
The butter-smooth bop blazed its way to pole position by way of 21.5 million US streams, 28,600 downloads, and a multi-format Stateside radio audience of 59.1 million. All accrued during the latest tracking week.
‘Door’s dynamite success adds to Mars’ highly decorated chart achievements.
Indeed, it’s his quickest release to hit #1 (five weeks post-arrival). Further, having amassed eight #1s since his first in 2010, Mars now ties Drake, Rihanna, and Katy Perry for the most #1s in that window of time.
Interestingly, the track – which also benefited from the recent release of a live version – is Paak’s second entry on the Hot 100 (he previously peaked at #89 in February 2020 as a featured act on Eminem’s ‘Lock It Up.’
