Mary J. Blige is keeping good on her promise to keep the new music flowing in early 2022.
Having already thrilled fans with the dually-released tunes ‘Amazing’ and ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ (the title track from her forthcoming studio album), the Queen of Hip Hop Soul is building royal excitement for their parent project by releasing yet another cut set to line its tracklist.
Titled ‘Rent Money,’ the song reunites Blige with her ‘Know How I Feel’ co-star Dave East to trade verses about the importance of reciprocity in romantic relationships.
“This isn’t love this is foolish / I just want back what I put into this / And then I’ll keep moving / All of my chips on the table,” sings MJB.

Love the lyrics not a fan of the production. Dave East is a beast tho. Mary has released 3 singles that are so radically different. It seems she is throwing us a bit of everything to see what will catch instead of giving us quality music. I know she is a legend and has nothing to prove, but give us a project that has a theme/motif or even direction at the least. Love me some Mary, but I checked out on her albums after Growing Pains..it was downhill after that.
I hate a song that starts off like this and your waiting 4 a beat to drop and it doesn’t. I get it, you want people to hear the lyrics but they can also get into more if there is a hard beat.
