In explosive news, it is being reported that Cheryl Cole has been kicked off X Factor USA’s judging panel and replaced with the show’s host Nicole Scherzinger.

Huge shakeup at Simon Cowell’s new show “X-Factor” — TMZ has learned singer Cheryl Cole will no longer be a judge … and will be replaced by ex-“Pussycat Dolls” member Nicole Scherzinger.
It’s unclear why Cheryl is out — but we’re told the replacement happened very recently.
Nicole was originally supposed to co-host the show with Steve Jones when it debuts in September — but now, she’ll be sitting on the judge’s panel alongside Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and LA Reid.
Calls to Cowell’s camp have not been returned.

Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel on “X-Factor” largely because producers were concerned her English accent would be too difficult for an American audience to understand … sources close to the production tell TMZ.
There were other issues too — we’re told Cheryl and fellow judge Paula Abdul had a “lack of chemistry” … and Cheryl was more expendable.
Producers now want Cheryl to return to the UK version of the show — but according to sources, Cheryl’s royally pissed over how this situation was handled … and may sever ties with “X-Factor” entirely.
With Cheryl out, Steve Jones will be the only host on the show — which debuts in September — while Nicole Scherzinger fills the open seat on the judging panel.
Calls to Simon Cowell still haven’t been returned.
Needless to say, this is shocking.com! Not so much because Cheryl was ever any good. Rather because Fox execs actually back-peddled on a decision which should never have been green-lit to begin with.
Granted we’re not one’s to rejoice over anyone’s misfortune, but Cheryl was always ridiculously under-qualified for the role on the US panel. Hell, she had no logical place on the UK panel either – managing to carve out a ‘career’ (despite her vocal handicaps) by way of smoke and mirrors. Well, it seems the show’s producer’s have seen what we’ve bee harping on about for the longest. It simply made no sense to have a non-entity on the panel, while Nicole Scherzinger stands reading cue cards. Perhaps they saw one of our posts.
Regardless, this is not a good look for Cheryl. Having so publicly left the UK show, and now being so publicly let go from the US version, her prospects are not looking good on either side of the Atlantic. Hopefully this serves as a lesson to all involved in her shambolic signing; don’t try and force the un-forceable. Cheryl should think about this, as well as enlisting a vocal coach, on the plane home.

If this is true it could only ever be because of Dannii Minogue no longer being on the UK show and Simon sending Cheryl back to the UK to replace her, I can garantee Simon would choose Cheryl over Tulisa any day and with only one familiar face on the UK panal it could kill the UK version of the show, Cheryl would NEVER be gone like that for no reason. I’m pissed she had better be on the U.S. X factor. Didn’t like her second album but she makes good songs. She doesn’t need to be Whitney Houston in order to make good music and hold a tune. There’s only a few people like Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Leona, Pattie, Aretha, and Beyonce.
Nicole should stay overseas- she’s doing so much better over there. Although Cheryl is doing well over in the UK she deserves a chance to be promoted over here to see how she will fare in America. Someone above said that Simon wouldn’t ditch Cheryl because they’re close. Well, in all honesty, he’s been with Paula for much longer and the American audience who watches Idol love the chemistry that they got, just as much as we love the chemistry Simon and Cheryl have in the UK version. So I’m thinking even though Simon wanted to help Cheryl break the US audience, he also needs to think about what will work for this show and help it sell and he knows that his chemistry with Paula will help to sell the show.
As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think this was a good decision from the start. If the producers really wanted Cheryl, they would have hired her immediately with no questions asked. BUT it’s obvious that they never did, and only hired her to keep Simon happy. If Cheryl wants to break the US audience, she will have to rely on her talent and her talent alone, and even then I don’t think that will get her far, since her only talent is…….what is her talent again?! Oh yeah, ‘singing’ (aka sing into the mic and let auto-tune do the rest). She’s a sweet girl but she’s not ready to take on the US, nor will she ever be.
Mariah’s name has been bounced around and we know she’s in it and she’ll have a role, she just needs to get there a little bit quicker (obviously can’t happen since she’s got Roc n’ Roe but still).
Nicole scherzinger should have been in that seat from the start. She is more talented than cheryl and definately has got personality. She was a guest judge on the UK x factor last year and really shone in the absence of danni minogue and cheryl. She definately deseves a place. I was dead set against watching the us version becasue of cheryl so her axing has made me want to now watch. Thankyou FOX for making the decision that simon refued to make.

Im not agree with that. Cheryl can’t be a singer of amazing vocal talent but lacks charisma, personality and good performance on stage. Fakes like Rihanna did not do half of what Cheryl does, and yet are hailed.
Nicole has some talent but is not a “Mariah Carey” and this situation was distressing and unnecessary.

Nicole can bring glamour to the show as she is VERY pretty, CAN sing and DANCE and regardless of what you think, her group is WELL KNOWN in the US and they have had a number of hits over there.
Cheryl’s group is well known in the UK and they have had a number of hits here so it makes sense for her to stay here and Nicole to stay there.
We all know the concept of the show is about manufactured singers, bands and music so you don’t really expect the likes of Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey to judge. Thats why the females are easily expendable as they just need one good looking woman to complete the panel.
If it was really about the voice then yeah, there are better singers but in terms of manufactured pop acts, its not the talent they need more like the most popular. They have an older woman in Paula Abdul ( i think they should have picked Madonna) and now a younger one like Nicole (Britney would have been good but I guess she has a comeback to focus on).
This makes more sense though than Cheryl Tweedy!

Oh! That’s good! Simon really made the wrong decision when she picked Cheryl. This kind of show really need talented acts to coach. Nicole is really qualified. She is very well-known worlwide. I think this show is really for her. Her statesides career is working now. Her single entered the Hot 100 and X Factor will really help her more.
Yeah, maybe Nicole Scherzinger isn’t as big as Mariah Carey or Whitney, or the “S&M” lipsynchers in US but she proved herself so much when she was in the Pussycat Dolls. I think that, for me, is one proof. PCD won’t have multi-platinum album and singles w/o Nicole.
