And it officially has a release date.
Full story below…
The comedy centers on the proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, Trinitie Childs (Hall).
When a scandal involving her husband, Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Brown) hits, the church is forced to close for a period of time, leaving Trinitie struggling to pick up the pieces. Particularly financially. In the wake of the drama, Trinitie and Lee-Curtis are tasked with rebuilding their congregation and reconciling their faith by any means necessary to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.
It’s been confirmed that the Focus Features flick (which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival) will hit theaters and Peacock streaming service simultaneously Labor Day weekend, Friday, September 2, 2022.
Serving as the debut from sibling writers Adamma Ebo and Adanne Ebo, ‘Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul’ is executive produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. Additional producers include Hall, Brown, and Daniel Kaluuya (by way of 59% Productions).
