With over 35 million records sold worldwide, a trophy case of countless industry awards, a slew of multi-Platinum albums, and movie and TV show ventures lining his storied resume, Snoop Dogg has been an entertainment fixture for over 30 years.
For those reasons and more, the Hip-Hop icon is set to see his life portrayed on the big screen in a recently announced biopic helmed by Universal Pictures.
More inside.

As revealed Wednesday (November 9), Universal is partnering with the Dogg Father’s newly formed Death Row Pictures to tell his life story via a forthcoming biographical film.
“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” Snoop said in a statement. “It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”
“Snoop Dogg’s life and legacy make him one of the most exciting and influential icons in popular culture,” shared Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley. “We met with Snoop shortly after he acquired Death Row Records and had the opportunity to hear his story in his own words. We are humbled to be able to create the lasting document of this singular artist.”
At writing, no tentative release date has been announced for the movie.
And while this will be the first flick dedicated to Snoop by his lonesome, moviegoers have had a peek into his life story before.
In 2015, the NWA biopic, ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ featured the GRAMMY nominee because of his business ties with group member Dr. Dre. Having grossed more than $200 million worldwide since its release, it stands as one of the most successful biographical films of all time.
Dumb’Fcukk’s “fave” rapper. Just like every other white trash dude who has no idea about the culture but thinks they do 🤣 Or in his words, “cracker.” Yes, Dumb’Fcukk, a cracker you certainly are. No wonder you use the word so much as it relates to usually you your cracker family 💋
I’m going to play Snoop Dogg in his biopic
