Despite entering the 2023 BET Awards as the night’s most-nominated female act, GloRilla left the event empty-handed Sunday (June 25).
But while the shut out may have been a bummer, the Memphis-bred beauty is still juggling wins elsewhere.
See what we mean inside.
Just a day after leaving the BET Awards’ audience mesmerized by the sizzling performance of her latest single ‘Lick Or Sum,’ Glo found out she had collected her first multiPlatinum plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Taking to press Monday (June 26), the organization announced ‘Tomorrow 2‘ – the Cardi B-assisted single found aboard the 23-year-old’s debut EP ‘Anyways, Life’s Great‘ (2022) – had crossed its threshold for double Platinum certification. This means it’s sold the equivalence of 2 million units in the United States.
A personal milestone for GloRilla, the track comes as the first of her career to be certified as high.
The news comes just months after ‘Tomorrow 2’ debuted and peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her first top 10 hit and highest placement on the tally to date.
