Mary J. Blige has enjoyed a colossal music career and released music and achieved success that is forever etched in history.
Yet, as the age old adage goes, all things must come to an end.
And, per the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul, that may be case of for her as an album-releasing artist.
Full story below…
In a new interview with PEOPLE to promote the Strength of a Woman Festival 2024, MJB was quizzed about the new material she’s been creating.
She shared:
“This is another album, and it’s probably my last studio album.”
Briefly walking back the remark, she joked:
“Everybody says that. I mean, OK. I guess it’s not then.”
To then more frankly add:
“Nah, I’ve been doing it for a while. I love it, I enjoy it, and it might be the last studio album. It might be.”
Blige’s most recent album was ‘Good Morning Gorgeous,’ which was released in 2022 and was nominated for Album of the Year at the GRAMMY Awards.
With that, what are…
Better be her last. Beyonce destroyed her long time ago. instead of heading to country direction, Old h a g Mary chose to retired.
No she’s actually thrived before and after Beyonce came out. You dummy’s just say anything.
WHOOOOOOO……DONT KNOW HER BUT I KNOW MARY
Mary’s voice is needed in RnB /hip hop soul in 2024 really needed. Everybody loves Mary and her time is not up.
her time is up even before Crackney Hoeston’s death.

I’m tired of artists seeking attention by announcing their retirement from music.
32 YEARS STRONG
ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE R&B ARTISTS EVER!
MARY DID HER BIG ONE. HER LEGACY IS SOLIDIFIED. SHE NEVER HAS TO RECORD AN ALBUM AGAIN.
❤️
Mary hasn’t had a good album since The Breakthrough. There’s been flashes and moments of excellence in the albums that followed. The only exception is the LONDON Sessions, which was a beast. They needed proper promo and to give that album time to breath with the right singles.
GMG the album was fire 🔥
Strength Of A Woman was great too!
Agreed. Both of those albums are FAR superior than that weak London Sessions.
Was she involved in Diddy’s scandal?
Yes
Proof?
I agree that r&b still needs her. I rock out almost everyday to the “I Like” single she has on Diddy’s love album. It’s nostalgic 90’s r&B.
She needs to work with a producer that doesn’t do Urban/R&B/Hip-Hip. She needs a completely new direction, pure Soul or something…
