Having marked a personal milestone in April for GloRilla by delivering her highest first-week pure sales to date, ‘Wanna Be‘ – found aboard her latest mixtape ‘Ehhthang Ehhthang‘ – has undoubtedly earned a spot as a standout in the GRAMMY nominee’s growing discography.
Shining as her second highest-charting single on the Hot 100 yet (#11 peak), the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted tune is only bested by her Cardi B-assisted hit ‘Tomorrow 2‘ (#9 peak).
What could possibly be better than having a hit song with Megan and Cardi respectively? Having a smash with both!
After introducing a Cardi-powered remix in late May, Glo’s given the Soulja Boy-sampling tune yet another lifeline.
Bumped to #15 on this week’s Hot 100, look below to see the numbers that gave ‘Wanna Be’ a 24-spot boost from last week’s position.
- Streaming ≈ 19.6 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 22,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay ≈ 7.4 million audience impressions
When pure sales are considered, ‘Wanna Be’ is the week’s top-selling female-led song – besting the likes of major hits like ‘Espresso‘ (Sabrina Carpenter), ‘Fortnight‘ (Taylor Swift),’ and others.
Among all acts, only Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song‘ (24,000) and Eminem‘s ‘Houdini‘ (49,000) sold more over the same tracking period.
And while this week’s overall commercial performance of ‘Wanna Be’ was boosted by Cardi, the remix’s standalone sales and streams did not best that of the original’s (hence why the ‘Bodak Yellow’ beauty is not credited).
The 22,000 units attached to the latest sales report of the tune now stands as Glo’s best-week single sales overall.

Cardi saved this song. I’m not a Megan fan at all. She’s way too gross and vulgar.
