Introducing…Chris Grant

Published: Tuesday 30th Aug 2011 by Sam

“Michael Jackson left the spirit of dance in Chris Grant” – Frank Gatson

For anyone else, such a billing would generate some discomfort. Yet for 23 year old Chris Grant, it’s not only a title he is humbled by, it’s one he’s keen to both embrace and honour.

A renown dancer and choreographer, the New York native has amassed a wealth of experience in his few years on the scene. Indeed, his choreography credits boast many a Beyonce stage-show, Jennifer Lopez‘s ‘On The Floor’ video, and most notably a spot on Michael Jackson’s ill-fated ‘This Is It’ extravaganza.

With Grant eager to emerge from the shadows as an artist himself, That Grape Juice presents episode 1 of ‘Introducing…Chris Grant’.

Hit ‘PLAY’ to get familiar with this face and story you’ll be seeing a lot more of!

Good to see Chris Grant doing well but LOL at this statement, ‘“Michael Jackson left the spirit of dance in Chris Grant” – Frank Gatson

I love how people take Franks words so seriously, this guy DANCED BACKUP for MJ not CHEOGRAPHED! LOL, acting like they were best friends LOL

MJs cheographers were Lavelle Smith, Tony Testa, Jeffrey Daniel, and I never here them brag the way he does, and they are 100 TIMES better than Frank

I hope he goes very far with his career. I think I remember him a few years ago when he auditioned for Making the Band 4 (Day 26). Anyway, he’s done well for himself, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

WHY I CANT LEAVE COMMENTS F*** U TGJ

IF I EVER GET A CHANCE TO MEET HIM..I WANT TO TELL HIM THAT I AM SO PROUD OF HIM…AND THAT WE CAN GO THROW A PIE IN DIDDY’S FACE TOGETHER, HE DOGGED HIM OUT SO BAD ON THAT SHOW….ABOUT HAVING NO TALENT, NOT BEING GOOD ENUFF, AND LIKE HE WAS JUST THE WORST THING SINCE THE PLAGUE….I AM SO PROUD OF WHERE HE IS, AND OW HE DIDNT LET THAT ASSHOLE DISCOURAGE HIS DREAM, HIS FOCUS. CHRIS GRANT IS VERY TALENTED AND DESERVES TO REALLY BE WHERE HE IS. I HOPE HE CHERISHES EACH MOMENT AND GROW FROM THEM TO KEEP CREATING EVEN BETTER MOMENTS

I know I remembered him from somewhere I thought he spelled his name Kryss Grant (no shade) but I also remember him singing Usher’s Burn extremely horrible, but I hope he has a bright future

Yes I remember him from making the band, and then, on “This Is It” and then him dancing for “Ego” for Beyonce. I am very very very proud of him. He is a Dancer above anything, I remember his vocals being the worst, but I am extreamly excited to hear how he sounds now, no matter what I will support. I will say that his story is a story that needs to be heard! I would love to have a convo with him, and i really hope TGJ interviews him, that would make an awesome interview!

He spotted my eyes dead on when first screening of “This Is It” on Premiere-Day. Before the names of his crew was really spread. Before there was word Michael picked him personally. Unlike most of the others. Industry-Fake Relations!
And for me to impress me it takes more than a lot. I just love Kryss. Wish him all the best and more. Addtl. kool he danced for King B. lately as well.

    And
LMAAAOOOOOOO @TheTruth who can’t even spell ‘choreograph’ / ‘choreographer’. You truly know what’s up naming minor MJ choreographers like Tony Testa and Jeffrey Daniels to put Frank down. Jesus take the wheel. If at least he had picked Michael Peters or Vincent Patterson but hey he da truth, …. GDFOH

doesn’t surprise me that someone of his caliber -who worked with Michael Jackson on “This Is It”- worked with Jennifer Lopez on “On the Floor”
Didn’t take long for Beyonce’s choreographer to see talent in Chris Grant as of recently so much as to eloquently put it into words.
indeed, “Michael Jackson left the spirit of dance in Chris Grant”

@JLORATION do you mind if i use your “bold”signature? :))

Oops, i replied on the Jennifer Lopez collection post.

I dunt know about him as an artist, even w/ Frank Gatson…..I just alwasy found the masculine shaped dancers who look really manly to not always appeal to me in dancing so loosly/freely/smoothly. They just look to soft. I can stand for Chris Brown though. Chris Brown goes off, and he’s a bad boy all around, he isn’t emotional and soft. I guess Michael was the only one that could pull off being really fluid and soft when he spoke.

  12. Malik August 30, 2011

Congratulations to him! He was on Making the Band & they told him he could not sing, but he could dance. Look where he is now, good job! #HAVEFAITH

He`s very talented, and humble, if he stays focused, determined,
and avoid the pitfalls of the industry, there will be no limit to his success.

    Niiiicceeee

  15. JAii August 31, 2011

I was at the Beyonce GMA performance and he was there to do the rehersal since Beyonce wasn’t there at the time. I guess that was around the time she had just got pregnant. He was the one that did all the coreography for Beyonce’s parts and he KILLED IT! He did it for the End Of Time and it was REALLY good he has such fluid movements. I see him doing really well for himself in the near future.

Chris is totally amazing, I’ve been following him from the start, I’m sorry ‘THE TRUTH’ but you’re pathetic, Frank Gatson is a legend and he knows what he’s talking about. Don’t disrespect what you don’t know.
Chris is going to be a superstar, he’s also kind and down to earth and is by far the best performer , i’ve seen him in a few interviews and he comes across so nice as well, cant wait for his stuff to come out!

Get your facts right.. Frank Gatson was there with Fatima on”remember the time” he was a executive choreographer for that job.. ask John Singleton that fact….Frank co-choreograped with Lavelle Smith and Travis the original Dangerous on the 20th American Music Awards. Ask Lavelle Smith and Travis Payne. He did D*** Clarkes 5oth Anniversary with MJ & Lavelle Smith.. That is where Frank gave Tood Sams a chance to dance with MJ … Also Frank directed Michael Jackson in a Big Democratic Fund Raiser for Bill Clinton at the Apollo It was filmed but never released…Everyone wants to say bad things about this man, but ask the artist he has worked with.. about his vision and talent.. Beyonce, Usher, Toni, Kelly, R.Kelly, Neyo, Brandy, Alexandra Burke, Mariah.. They know this man… and many more…

I think Chris Grant will work for a gay crowd not pop culture he does not cover all grounds to me he just sniffed the “Charle” Frank Gatson gave him and now Frank has to deliver or Chris may become that bitter struggling artist that may bit back #Scandal believe it.
