Tyla is responding to the backlash over a MTV Video Music Awards show moment she had with Halle Bailey.
More details below…
It began when Tyla was given the award for Best Afrobeats Video, and she said that the award was too heavy for her to hold on to. So, she asked for it to be held.
“Oh my gosh. You guys know me and holding awards. I am not strong enough,” she said before viewers misread the situation as Bailey not wanting to hold the award.
Now, Tyla has taken to Twitter to address the situation.
“Y’all make everything weird… I was not asking my girl Halle…
We just girls. STFU I WON A VMAAAA,” she shared.

She got Lil Nas X to hold it calm down
she can hold a D ic k but not an award, I thought they both have the same weights.
Tyla stank lol
I think her calling MTV out for confusing amapiano and afrobeats was the more important aspect of her speech. MTV just simply put threw African artists all in one category regardless of whether it was applicable. They should do better.
