The shocking case quickly unraveled when investigators alleged the attack was staged, leading to a whirlwind of legal drama, public debate, and a short jail sentence that was later overturned.
Produced by RAW, the team behind ‘Don’t F**k With Cats’ and ‘The Tinder Swindler,’ the 90-minute doc promises exclusive interviews with police, lawyers, journalists, and even Smollett himself. According to Netflix, the film will dig deep into:
“a shocking true story of an allegedly fake story that some now say might just be a true story.”
