The action-comedy flick is loosely inspired by ‘Vineland’, a novel written by Thomas Pynchon, but with a modern twist.
The film focuses on Bob Ferguson (DiCaprio), who is a reformed revolutionary and lives in isolation with his daughter. His past catches up with him when someone from his past 16 years ago comes knocking on his door. Bob is then forced to reunite with his old crew to save his daughter.
Anchored by a a star-studded ensemble cast, other names featured Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro (the mysterious “Sensei”), Wood Harris, Chase Infiniti, Alana Haim, and Shayna McHayle.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film is getting some good buzz from early screenings. Indeed, it’s been described as “the closest we’ll ever get to a full-on PTA action movie.”
‘One Battle After Another’ will premiere in theaters September 26, including select IMAX and 70mm screenings. This will be Anderson’s first-ever IMAX release.
