Hip-Hop lovers the world over were abuzz last night after Drake‘s sophomore set ‘Take Care’ made it’s way onto the internet.
Not due for another week, its early “surfacing” caught many off-guard given how guarded the project had been up until that point.
Perhaps most surprised was the rapper himself, who took to Twitter to air out his feelings. Check out what he had to say after the jump…
“I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore.
Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.”
Granted leaks are often the unfortunate kiss of death to many a project, Drake’s take on the matter is altogether refreshing and indicative of someone who’s confident in the body of work he has presented. Many a moaning artist could and should take note. Because as long as the industry avoids a digital-only distribution model, leakage will continue.

I’m sorry but this album is just as worst as the last album….matter of fact it sounds like a continuation of the last album. The production, weak ass beats, same dreadful depressing singing. I mean really….do he want to rap or sing….because 85% of the album is singing……….I can’t get with this dude. NEXT!

I have not really heard any promotion for this release. His 1st CD was heavily garnered and promoted like crazy. I think Drake and his team *cough* Baby/Birdman may not be interested in buy a million copies this go around considering (per rumors) he just dropped a milli on Lil Wayne’s last project! 🙂

He’s happy his album leaked because he can blame the leakage when ‘Take Care’ will be a certified flop.
IMO, if the material is strong enough people will still buy it. You take BeYAWNce’s album and her fans bought it the first month. After that it didn’t sell nothing even with all the singles and videos she’s done. People found out it’s trash and they tell their frinds “don’t bother.” it’s been selling 15k a week for a while. Word travels and will kill your album more so than anything. Then you have Adele who has huge hits but the album was selling BEFORE the hits and has been consistently selling for months because people are checking it out and it’s good and people are asking if it’s any good and people are saying “yes, check it out”
