Fans of Mariah Carey (affectionately called #Lambs) have waited with bated breath to find out who would be tapped to tribute to the Songbird Supreme after it was announced she will be 2026’s MusiCares Person of the Year.
Their wait came to a close on Tuesday (January 20) when the Recording Academy announced the megawatt list of stars that will be on hand to pay homage to the diva by covering some of her biggest hits.
Among the big names lining up to participate in Carey’s tribute are Billy Porter, Teddy Swims, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Adam Lambert, Charlie Puth, Kesha, Maggie Rogers, and Laufey.
The evening will also boast a specially curated DJ set by Grammy Award-winner and longtime Carey collaborator Jermaine Dupri.
“I’m deeply honored to have these extraordinary artists come together for this evening,” shared Mariah in an official statement. “Their generosity, their presence, and their commitment to this moment mean more to me than I can express. Being part of this celebration in benefit of MusiCares and the support they provide to those in the music community makes this night even more special. I’ve always believed that music heals, and it’s meant to be shared!”
Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center two nights before the 2026 Grammy Awards, Person of the Year – an annual gala presented by MusiCares (a charity and affiliate of The Recording Academy) – will be awarded during “Grammy Week” on January 30.
