Before Sunday (May 24), no artist in the 70-year history of the Billboard 200 could boast occupying the chart’s top 3 spots with new studio albums in the same week.

Leave it to Drake to be the first.

To mark his highly anticipated comeback, Drake surprise-dropped three albums on May 15: ‘Iceman,’ ‘Habibti,’ and ‘Maid of Honour.’

In the days that followed, the 5-time GRAMMY winner reigned over real-time sales and streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify – a week of history-making domination that culminated to a #1, #2, and #3 respective openings on the latest edition of the Billboard 200.

‘Iceman’ got the gold with total sales that landed north of 463,000 while ‘Habibti’ followed with 114,000 and ‘Maid’ made it to the bronze spot with 110,000.

Together, the trio amassed a sum of 687,000 – easily making Drizzy the week’s chart champion.

On the all-time front, the Canadian hitmaker now has 15 top 10 hits on the Billboard 200 – a status that not only broken JAY-Z‘s record for most top 10s among male artists (14) but also ties Taylor Swift‘s record for most top 10s among all solo acts (15).

At writing, only The Beatles (19) have more than Drake.

  2. Where’s my comment May 24, 2026

Kendrick dropped two of his weakest albums this decade, while Drizzy put out two of his best and did it without a Super Bowl handout. Meanwhile, Kendrick’s side stays propped up by label push, airplay, and bot-fueled hype, but his fans still act like that’s not the case….
