RAYE is set for a milestone night on Sunday (September 27).
Beyond making her solo VMAs debut, the British diva is set to perform as part of a star-studded George Michael tribute.

RAYE – who is nominated for two VMAs including Song of the Year for her breakout song ‘Where Is My Husband!’ – will not only perform the smash hit but will separately join Sombr and Teddy Swims for an homage to Michael in honor of the approaching 10th anniversary of his untimely death.
Adam Blackstone will serve as musical director of the segment, which will feature a medley of the late singer’s greatest hits.
At writing, producers have not confirmed which songs will be used although favorites like ‘Careless Whisper,’ ‘Faith,’ and ‘Freedom 90!’ are expected.
A fitting recipient of a star-studded tribute, Michael had an extensive history with MTV that not only included collecting 16 MTV VMAs and EMAs combined over his career but also earning the Video Vanguard lifetime achievement award in 1989.
The MTV VMAs, hosted by Snoop Dogg, will air live on CBS and stream via Paramount+ on Sunday.
