Just two years after making music history with their first joint effort ‘Rain Down on Me,’ Gospel icon Kirk Franklin and Rap diva GloRilla are undoubtedly looking to repeat the feat with their reunion single ‘This Time.’
The latest taste of new music from Franklin’s October 30-due new album ‘I Am What I Am‘ (set to be delivered via a new partnership with Uptown Records), the heavily teased, horn-filled ‘Time’ rings the alarm on the 20-time GRAMMY winner’s next era in a seriously triumphant way.
“Feel it inside this time / We gon’ be fine this time / We gon’ be fine, we gon’ be / Hands in thе air, hands in the air,” declares Kirk and choir over a familiar Maxwell Stark-produced beat.
Longtime Hip-Hop fans will be able to point out that ‘Time’ is buoyed by a prominent sample of Shawty Lo‘s 2007 smash ‘Dey Know.’
