Since news broke of Katy Perry‘s impending divorce, the Pop star has maintained a dignified silence.
However, growing speculation surrounding why Russell Brand filed the motion to end their 14 month marriage seems to have been the final straw for the singer, who took to Twitter today to air her feelings.

It happened only a week ago, Sam, not a year ago.
I knew that marriage wouln’t last after that live performance where she shared her wedding album on stage. It was about time to wake up from that Teenage Dream of hers. She’ll be fine!
She had a lucky escape she could do much better than Russell.

Well said Katy, there has been so much speculation in the media about who was at fault and why they split, I always take stuff like that with a pinch of salt – a “source” frequently means “we pretty much just made this up”. It takes two to make a relationship and two to break it and I don’t like all the side-taking I’ve seen online – Team Russell or Team Katy, oh please, some people need to grow up. I’ll admit I never thought they were suited, polar opposites really, but its always sad to see someone’s marriage go down the pan – marriages where both parties are celebrities seem to have a terrible track record unfortunately. Glad to see Katy is keeping her chin up, wish Russell would stop moping around given he was the one who filed ;o)
