Katy Perry has fiercely condemned Donald Trump’s White House after her anthem ‘Firework’ was used to soundtrack footage of U.S. military strikes on Iran.
The singer says the administration neither sought nor received her approval, and she is making clear that its use clashes directly with the song’s intended message.

The official White House TikTok post, shared Thursday, paired the track’s “boom, boom, boom” refrain with clips of explosions and carried the caption, “Iran has been warned.”
The video landed as the U.S. military confirmed it had completed a 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iran amid the rapidly escalating conflict.
Addressing the clip directly on X, Perry wrote:
“I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.
I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.”
My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.
The rebuke places the Pop star among a growing number of performers who have publicly objected to their work being folded into White House messaging without their blessing.
