In a recent interview with KMELTV, LeToya Luckett confirmed that she is set to begin work on her third studio album in the next month or so. The as yet untitled project will be follow-up to this year’s ‘Lady Love’, which spurned the R&B hit ‘Regret’. Speaking on the direction of the LP, the 28 year old said unlike ‘Lady Love’ – which was filled with more “angry records” the new LP will be a “gumbo mix” of the good and bad times. (Click here to watch to the interview)

As one of those who preferred the more balanced-out nature of LeToya’s debut album over the ballad-heavy/too-long ‘Lady Love’ , I’m quite looking forward to a return to her original formula (mix of uptempo’s, mids, and slow jams). One has to wonder, though, what label the LP is set to be released on, as after the drama current label Capitol have given her, I’d be surprised to see it released there. Either way, I doubt there’s much to worry about; as, should she leave Capitol, I’m sure many a label would be itching to snap her up. Roll on album #3…

i dont really think Letoya is as good as you think sam..

i cant see her getting signed to any major label, the one massive song imo was “Not Anymore” and it got knowhere near the recognition it deserved.that should of been a worldwide crossover hit. but it wasnt handelled properly

her other material imo.. is very VERY so-so.
Just dont see it making an impact, hopefully with future material she could step it up.
but with her current catalogue.. i dont see the label offers flooding in.

I think LeToya should leave. Lady Love was the best RnB album of 2009 and Capitol dropped the ball. And yes if LeToya leaves another label will be more than happy to pick her up. LeToya has brought class and beautiful music in the middle of an dog eat dog industry and I love it! Regret is a top ten hit because of her fans not the label. If she stays I will still support her, but I have to say after seeing the difference in promotions between her first debut and her current effort…smh… I don’t think staying with Capitol is the best decision. I can’t wait for album #3!

I love LeToya and she is so UNDERRATED.

She works very hard and that twat matthew better stop trying to ruin LeToya’s career. He was paying radio stations not to play her hit song regret.

    I love LeToya

Lady Love was a fantastic contemporary r&b album…..period.

I think Letoya is officially over, her album has only sold around 100,000 worldwide and has had flop after flop singles.
I did think she was going to come stronger than ever but I had my hopes up and her vocals are a mess.

She’s still under contract, so she can’t leave. Her album was soooooo good. It’s a shame radio and label politics are holding her, and countless others, back from their fullest potential.
