Final Numbers Are In: Future Makes History With Lil Uzi Vert Joint LP ‘Pluto x Baby Pluto’

Published: Wednesday 25th Nov 2020 by Rashad

With little warning, rappers Future and Lil Uzi Vert‘s long-teased collaborative effort – ‘Pluto x Baby Pluto’ – launched to major streaming platforms on November 13.

Executive produced by DJ Esco, the project’s original carnation boasted 16 never-before-heard duets from the chart-toppers and was released just days ahead of an expanded deluxe edition that featured 8 more songs – including the previously released ‘Over Your Head’ and ‘Patek.’

Though initially locked in a tight battle with AC/DC for the refreshed Billboard 200 championship (as we reported here), the additional streams and sales provided by the rappers’ re-release did nothing to edge out the legendary rockers by the tracking week’s end.

See their final figures inside:

Future & Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Pluto x Baby Pluto’

First-Week Sales (SPS): 105,000 units

First-Week Sales (Pure):  5,500

First-Week Billboard 200 Placement: #2

Billboard reports:

Pluto x Baby Pluto is the second top 10 album for Future in 2020, following his No. 1 High Off Life (May 30). As for Lil Uzi Vert, he too clocks his second top 10 of 2020, as he bowed at No. 1 with Eternal Atake on March 21.

Pluto x Baby Pluto is Future’s fourth collaborative set to chart, following joint efforts with Juice WRLD (Future & Juice WRLD Present… WRLD on Drugs, No. 2 in 2018), Young Thug (Super Slimey, No. 2 in 2017) and Drake (What a Time to Be Alive, No. 1 in 2015). Lil Uzi Vert has never released a collaborative album until now.

All told, Future has now tallied 14 top 10 albums — the most among all acts in the span since his first, Pluto, in May 2012 — while Lil Uzi Vert has three.

Future and these collaborative albums man! I don’t think he records for the love of the art, I think he gets really high and goes in the booth and says whatever the hell comes to mind. He has more pointless songs than any other artist, xcept Nicki. I mean 14 albums in 8 years? That’s almost 2 albums a year since his career started. And I can only name 1 or 2 Future songs. See where I’m goin with this?
