Jennifer Lopez Performs On ‘Dick Clark’

Published: Friday 1st Jan 2010 by Trent

Jennifer Lopez hit the stage last evening on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest’. The entertainer did a medley of songs including ‘Louboutins’, ‘Waiting For Tonight‘ and ‘Let’s Get Loud’. Lopez’s upcoming studio album, ‘Love?’, will be released in April.

Lopez is definitely doing it big with her choreography. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her revamp some of her past hits with new routines; proving that she has not lost her edge. On the other hand, while I understand it almost necessary to use a backtrack in the blistering cold of New York City, she did not sing a single line of that entire performance live. For someone who claims to be a serious vocalist, many may question why she has been continuously lip-syncing throughout the last few months. Interesting.

Thoughts?

Give her a break. At least her mic was on. Did you hear how hard she is breathing after the first song? There is no way she could have sung in tune the rest of the performance after that.

Maybe you guys should call her an aspiring singer as well with all the lip syncing. I think JLo can really dance, but I hold other artists that both sing and dance live in a much higher regard. Anyway, I still hope she has a successful career.

stop hating on JLo for lipsyncing.

Look at britney spears – never sung a single note live yet is able to sell records. and the so-called voices of our times “Mariah and Whitney” often lip-sync or sing over a backing track. Mariah especially is known for her dreadful immitation singing.

But at least Trent knows what he’s talking about (with regards to the remixes and choreography) unlike a certain Toyah from a certain Toya’s world who is chatting complete bull.

TGJ got this one right!!! (1 to TGJ, 0 to Toyas World)

Saw the performances and nothing impressed me about Jlo and I am not looking forward to any new project from her.

People need to stop haiting. J-Lo may not be a whitney houston but at least she can perform. I don’t necessarily agree with all her recent lypsynching but she can carry a tune. Then you have others who doesn’t sing a note at all, and rarely even moves her body on stage. Thats if you cal hand movements dancing. J-Lo is back! And she is coming to reclaim that title. This chick was the original fashion ICON of the younger generation. If you don’t remember google the b****. F*** what you heard everyone stay biting off her style. Say what you want to say she is one smart lady and will go down in the books.

Your ass was not in NYC obviously, let’s see u get on stage in that thin outfit dance in the cold and rain roll around and get picked up by dancers haa I’d love to see you attempt to carry a note let alone attempt to say ya name she could have stood there and sing and move her arms around and had dancers in the back do all the dancing but that would never have been as exciting my baby did her job and preformed!

i would rather have somebody put on a hell of a show and lip synch (jlo) than to make my ears bleed and just stand there like a deer in headlights (riri)

Lmao, this girls are singers and some dumb fuckers say that is better to lip synch and to dance then to sing bad, then people question why this industry is dead? talented or not, this girls are known and get millions for singing, not because they can dance, if it was because of that, the dance industry wouldnt be so underrated, if they were known for dancing on stage we would pick up a dancer in the street, put him on a studio, make some auto tune song and there you have it, a “wonderful performer” just because he can dance and has a song.

Wake up you pieces of s***, these girls get millions on their tours just because they can dance when they should be singing, bad or not.
Oh well, fagotts and ghetto girls support this s***, what can we do..

btw, JLo is a hasbeen, she needs to now when to quit and the time is now

stop hating on JLo for lipsyncing.

Im a jlo fan , and i think like sam , why she defen her vocal ? in the video on the studio .
But i think its HARD TO DANCE AND SINGING .
Maybe if she relase “WHAT IS LOVE” , she sing sure live !!

Also time was , freezing , the outfit was like a oven lol

JLO opened herself up to criticism by asking people to take her serious as a vocalist and then not singing live. She’d have more credibility as an artist if she promises a good performance and then delivers with good choreography and stage theatrics like her performance on So You Think You Can Dance (which I thought was good btw). Britney Spears does not really come under fire because she does not claim to be a vocalist.

That NYE performance was supposed to be “live”, but there are always excuses for JLO’s constant lipsyncing. Either its because she’s dancing and now its because it was cold outside. Daugherty was cold also, but he sure sang live, and seeing that JLO performed 3 songs last night, she could have chosen at least 1 ballad to sing without dancing and sang it “live

Performers who CAN SING love to show off their vocal skills. It is their passion and no matter what, they would never lipsync all the time like JLO does.

Alright, for all the people complaining.. I ask you to ask yourself this.
Would you honestly rather watch J.Lo stand in the middle of the stage, sing live and throw her arm or leg out every now and then, than what she is doing now?

  14. Yamaha January 1, 2010

    @?
I prefere lipsync with dance perfomance than a boring ballade like mariah carey , with no dance . and to see mariah sit on a chair

    Jlo killed IT !!!

HAPPY new year everybody , !!! don’t hate J-lo please , it’s no cool , she SACRIFIED her new year with her familly and kids and prefer do dance with us and NY !!! 🙂 GO JEN

I like Yamaha. He/she speaks truth. A proper music fan…

  17. Tanda January 2, 2010

All the Times Square performances are prerecorded vocals! Daughtry was NOT live! He was prerecorded. So don’t hate on Jenny. It is too damn cold and the acoustics suck! No one can do a live vocal there! Stop being a fool.

  18. pbj January 2, 2010

For some reason she felt she needed to speak out about being a serious vocalist, but is not backing that up which is why Trent has a valid point. Given the exception of Times Square because of the weather, what about her last few performances? JLo is talented no doubt and he gave her props for the choreography, but I think artists who lip sync should not even have microphones and just dance at least that way it’s honest.
