The incredible legacy of Jamal Edwards MBE was saluted last night (November 7) at the MITS [Music Industry Trust] Awards.
A trailblazer, innovator, and pioneer, the young entrepreneur and founder of SB.TV sadly passed away earlier this year.
In celebrating the ever-present luminosity of his achievements, the star-studded MITS’ hosted a memorable evening in his honor.
The likes of Little Simz, Mahalia, and Jorja Smith joined Jamal’s mother Brenda Edwards, and sister Tanisha Edwards to celebrate his many achievements and enduring impact.
Simz, who is riding high off big wins at the BRITs, MOBOs, and Mercury Prize, performed a medley of songs from her critically-acclaimed album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.’ During her set, she said:
“We’re gonna have a party in here and celebrate this man everything he’s done and everything he’s accomplished. He was a go-getter someone that had a vision.”
